Celebrating Leadership: My Journey as APCIA Emerging Leader for 2025

A Journey with ALPS 

Since joining ALPS in 2012, I’ve had the privilege of working with a team committed to providing industry-leading professional liability insurance to attorneys. In July 2022, when I was given the opportunity to launch and lead the business insurance department, it was a challenge I embraced wholeheartedly. My goal was to extend ALPS’ legacy of trust by creating a seamless, single solution for the comprehensive insurance needs of small law firms. 

Adding Value for Our Clients 

Small law firms are at the heart of what we do at ALPS. When we introduced business insurance, the goal was simple: provide greater value and convenience to the attorneys who trust us. We recognized the challenges our clients face—balancing a busy practice while ensuring their business is fully protected. We designed our offerings to meet those needs. 

A Growing Impact 

Not long after launching, in early 2023, a long-time ALPS-insured law firm sought to simplify their insurance process by consolidating all their policies with ALPS. During the quoting process for their Business Owners Policy (BOP), we discovered a critical oversight in their previous coverage: their prior BOP only covered their building's LLC and did not include protection for the firm’s business property or general liability. 

We provided a competitive and appropriately rated BOP policy that addressed these gaps. The new policy was structured with the firm as the first named insured and their building’s LLC as the second named insured, ensuring comprehensive protection for both the firm and the building under one streamlined policy. The firm was grateful for the improved coverage and peace of mind. 

This is just one example of how we’ve been able to bring holistic value to the firms we serve because we understand law firms. The response to ALPS’ business insurance has both inspiring and affirming. On platforms like Trustpilot, our clients consistently praise the value we bring:
