How do I get a Certificate of Insurance (COI)?

A policyholder may need a Certificate of Insurance (COI) as a concise document that proves active coverage to a third party. It summarizes key policy details and is commonly requested by clients, vendors, landlords, or partners as a condition of doing business.

To get a Certificate of Insurance (COI), please click on the situation that best describes your request.

  1. I just purchased a new ALPS Property & Casualty Insurance Co. lawyers' professional liability insurance policy.
  2. I am a current ALPS Property & Casualty Insurance Co. policyholder.
  3. I have a business insurance policy (BOP, Commercial Liability, Higher Limits of Cyber, Commercial Auto, etc).
  4. I have a lawyers' professional liability insurance policy through ALPS Insurance Agency that is not with ALPS Property & Casualty Insurance Co.

To confirm if your policy is with ALPS Property & Casualty Insurance Co. or another carrier, please look at your declarations page or policy documents.

Congratulations on becoming an ALPS customer! If you purchased your policy online, it will be issued within two business days. Once any policy is issued, you’ll receive your instructions on how to log into your account center for the first time.

Once you do, please follow the instructions for Current ALPS Property & Casualty Insurance Co. policyholders below.

To request a COI:

  1. Please log into your ALPS Account Center.

  2. Click "Certificate Request."Account Center COI Request
  3. Select your ALPS Professional Liability policy, and scroll down to the next section. Account Center COI Request Screen 1

  4. You can select to send to an existing certificate holder or you can enter a new one.Account Center COI Request Screen 2

Business insurance policyholders (BOP, Commercial Liability, Higher Limits of Cyber, Commercial Auto, etc)

To request a COI for any business insurance policy other than lawyers' professional liability insurance, please email your request to Nikki Marlowe,  ALPS Business Insurance Customer Service Representative.

Lawyers' professional liability insurance policyholders placed through ALPS Insurance Agency, not insured through ALPS Property & Casualty Insurance Co.

To request a COI for your lawyers' professional liability insurance policy, please email your request to your account manager. You can find your Account Manager's information on our People page, as well as in the welcome documentation you received when the policy was issued.
